Over the past 14 years, gallery on the square has established itself as one of South Africa's leading fine art galleries. It showcases a diverse range of South African and international fine art, sculpture, and ceramics, as well as supporting various local development projects.
The gallery strives to promote a cross section of established and emerging South African artists across a variety of disciplines. Among the various development projects the gallery supports are: MonkeyBiz, the Mapula Embroidery Project, and the internationally-renowned Ardmore Ceramic Studio. The gallery has helped bridge the gap between what is considered as craft and fine art by offering the atrists of these projects a showcase for their vibrantm often unusual works.
The gallery also keeps up-to-date with the international art market by selecting and selling singed, limited edition graphics by some of the world’s leading 20th century artists such as Chagall, Jim Dine, David Hockney, Marino Marini, Miró, Henry Moore and Picasso.
